This window is dedicated to the memory of Miss Bessie Haden (1869-1884), aged 15 years, by her grandmother, Mrs. Charles R. Hughes (Elizabeth Treat Shelton) (1818-1886).  Miss Haden was the daughter of Dr. John Miller Haden and Sarah Best Brannum Haden.  The entry in the diary of Henry Rosenberg for Monday, April 7, 1884, reads as follows:  “Bishop Greg confirmed Miss Haden between 4 and 5 p.m. and while closing the ceremony, Miss Bessie Haden expired.”
