Work at Trinity Church

Position Available: Organist

Hours: Part-time

Reports to: Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church

Compensation: Dependent upon experience and qualifications

Overview

Trinity Episcopal Church seeks an organist to continue its heritage of excellent music in the

Episcopal tradition. The organist will collaborate with the choirmaster and Rector to advance

the musical program of the parish.

Trinity’s Organ

Built by the Austin Organ Company of Harford, Connecticut, the organ at Galveston’s Trinity

Episcopal Church was completed in June of 1989. The three-manual drawknob console controls

five divisions, including an antiphonal division with a trompette-en-chamade, located in the

rear gallery of the church.

Duties and Expectations:

*Accompany choir for the following worship services

*Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

*Two services on Christmas Eve

*Ash Wednesday

*Maundy Thursday

*Good Friday

*Two services on Easter morning

*Opportunity to play for weddings and funerals for additional fees

Qualifications:

*Complete Diocese of Texas training courses, “Safeguarding God’s People” and “Safeguarding

God’s Children” and pass a background check

*Knowledge and experience within the Anglican tradition of worship

*Proficiency in organ performance and choral accompaniment
