Worship Services commemorating the
125th Anniversary of
The Great Storm of 1900
Sunday, September 7, 2025
8:00 a.m. & 10:30 a.m.
In commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of The Great Storm of 1900, we will be holding worship services from the Episcopal Church's 1892 version of the Book of Common Prayer. This would have been the standard for all worship services held at Trinity Episcopal Church at the time of the Great Storm of 1900. Along with a number of hymns and choral anthems that would have been in use at the time of the Great Storm, the choir will be offering Eliza Gilkyson’s "Requiem," written in the aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, as a memorial for all people who have lost their lives in floods, storms, and other natural disasters.
We hope that everybody leaves these worship services with gratitude to God, a sense of awe when considering the might of God's creation, and a sense of sorrow for those who continue to suffer because of natural disasters around the world.
